Open Day at Waterperry House
We’d love to meet you and give you a taste of what we do at the Oxford Branch.
In the morning we’ll give a presentation to show how we focus on making Philosophy practical. Our students will present a glimpse of how we bring the Philosophy to life, not only in the group rooms but through our events.
We’ll present some of these in the beautiful ballroom of the main house.
We’ll take you on a tour of the unique frescos which encompass three floors of the building right up to a view of the heavens beyond.
We invite you to take a tour around the estate and see how the workshops are being equipped for various artists and sculptors. including the country’s only figurehead carver in the country, Andy Peters, who has his workshop within the grounds. Please check out his latest figurehead, ‘Nannie’ for the Cutty Sark which has been featured on the BBC.
After the formal program you can enjoy the delights of our teashop (serves delicious lunches which you can pre-order to avoid the queue). Please email schoolofphilosophyoxford@gmail.com
We will also invite you to enjoy the famous gardens as our guest.
Add to this the Farm Shop, the Horticultural Centre and the Gift Shop, and we can promise you lots to see and do in the idyllic grounds of this lovely House.
