Sanskrit for Philosophy Students
Having some appreciation of Sanskrit means that some of the most profound and oldest surviving books of wisdom can be penetrated in greater depth.
But this course is not just about learning a language. It is also to
- understand something of the origin of language, the special nature of Sanskrit and why it is an essential aid to realising the truth;
- understand spiritual concepts not capable of accurate expression in English
- purify the mind through sound and chanting
- learn more about one's own language and language itself
There are no beginners' courses running at the moment in Oxford (winter 2020)
